Wrest Park

Sunday, the sun is up on the blue sky, a more than pleasant temperature, and I have the whole day for myself and my trusty motorcycle.

I spent the evening before, researching a not-so-far-from-home English Heritage location to explore and photograph, as I haven’t done this in a while and I was missing it.

Wrest Park ticked all the boxes for the day. A nice house, a lovely garden, not very far, as I haven’t got too much time to spend in the saddle this year, and I wanted to ease it in. Oh, as a bonus: Wrest Park has a pond! And as I love long exposures that have water in them… well, there I was, leaving towards this amazing location.

The GPS decided to take me there via Great Chishill, and I couldn’t not stop by the windmill and take a couple of pictures, I had all day for myself, plenty of time, why rush? I decided to use the polarizing filter, to show those true colours of that glorious sky!

Shortly after I finished taking pictures, I jumped in the saddle and took the road to Wrest Park. Very nice ride, with great weather, and the traffic was ok, suck a nice day.

Arrived at Wrest Park, I parked my bike and I started exploring. Nice gardens! Nice buildings! Quite a few people enjoying the day! A lovely pond! I was enjoying the day, a lot! I took many pictures, and towards the end, I decided to visit the house.

There, a very kind gentleman approached me and asked me and after asking if I have any knowledge about Wrest Park, started telling me the history of this lovely place. That’s why the house was so “empty”, one of the owners tried to sell it! It was such a nice experience! Many thanks to the kind gentleman, I wish I asked his name…

Please have a look at the pictures taken at Wrest Park, I really enjoyed my time there.

A very nice day out! I really need to get out more :)
