The calm...

... in the chaos.

Long exposures, a never-ending and surprising road. It was one of those days. I left the bike to take me wherever it wanted to.

Dovercourt. Probably the most photographed lighthouse in the UK, or maybe not - what would I know? Cold, Windy, noisy waves crashing on the shore. Disorder. Turmoil. The sea was truly restless.

I managed to capture a few waves in their "destructive" stance, they looked as if they were at war with the groynes. The waves didn't seem to be winning. Luckily, they have time to their advantage.

I took the tripod out, secured the camera on it, fitted the filter, and calculated the time required. The press of a button. I watched the battle as my camera captured the images, stopping time with a snapshot, calming the fight... I took more photos, with breaks, to avoid overheating the sensor; meanwhile I continued observing the never-ending struggle - thinking about some better days.

I checked out the images... time felt non-existent, the water became milky, the turmoil transformed into peace. The disorder vanished. Nothing, just silence. There is calmness in the chaos, and I can happily say that I found it.
