Photography Blog

Hi and many thanks for paying me this virtual visit.

I have decided to give blogging a try. Everything was already in place (from a technical point of view), I'm pretty much glued to my computer, so why not then? Why not share a few thoughts from behind the scenes? If you have any doubts what is this about, well, this is a photography website. Buckle up!

I should probably start with the beginning, but I'm a bit of an anarchist so I will make my first entry about a single picture, taken a couple of days ago. Rewind time. Friday night, work finished, outside was cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Joking, it was a bit foggy. And I thought I should try a to take a picture of Saffron's Walden Church. Another one!

I've met there my mate from work, Jeremy (click for his instagram) , who recently joined this beautiful and very demanding hobby. As expected we've started taking pictures. The fog was not as... persistent as I would like it. After about an hour we decided that we took enough pictures and probably we should call it a night.

Went home, and started editing. The image can be seen at the bottom of this page, how did I do it? Bracketing exposure is the term for this technique. I took four different shots with different camera settings and then I have combined those images into one, using Adobe Lightroom. Some may say that is cheating. I call it: covering a wider dynamic range.

St Mary's Church, Saffron Walden

That's about it for now. Stay safe!
